In In preparation to the 21st International AIDS Conference to be held in Durban, South Africa… The Gugu Dlamini Foundation in partnership with the eThekwini Municipality, the office of the Premier of KwaZulu Natal and the KZN Department of Health officially hosted the opening of Gugu Dlamini Memorial Educational House in Ntunzuma, Durban on Tuesday 12th of July 2016. Also a monument stone was unveiled in memory of the late Gugu Dlamini at the place where she was found after having been attacked. The event was held in Ntunzuma north of DUran, at the home of the Gugu Dlamini Foundation.
A number of international visitors and locals came to witness this historical event. Mandisa Dlamini the daughter of the late Gugu Dalmini and founder of the Gugu Dlamini Foundation gave memorial lecture on the life of Gugu.
